Things you need for replacing a shower head
Here are a few things you need while replacing a shower head
- A new shower head
- Teflon tape
- An adjustable wrench
Pick Your Showerhead
As you decided to replace your shower head so it’s time to pick a shower head according to your choice. If you love head that ejects water with great pressure than you need a high-pressure head. Also, if you love to take a shower with your partner then you need a dual shower head.
Moreover, if your lives in an area where water is fully chlorinated and water is hard so it is preferable to pick a shower head with a shower filter in it. So we prefer you to do deep research and pick wisely that head which suits you.
Remove Old Showerhead
Hold wrench in your hand and start losing the head with a wrench in an anti-clockwise direction. If the head does not get lost with a wrench then tight the wrench to the endpoint and then rotate the wrench it will surely get lost. Note do not apply force as your head might get a break.
Once the head got lose with the wrench then remove shower head with your hand.
Remove Extra Materials
After removing the shower head you may notice some dirt, debris or rust coming all of the shower hosen. So it is better to remove all the dirt from the hose to get it cleaned
Wrap Teflon Tape
After doing the above process now wrap Teflon tape around the hose. This tape will make the hose smooth and also cover the threads of the hose. Use your fingers to smooth the tape to make it good for the head.
Install the New Head
After doing the above procedure now tight the new shower head that you have bought. The procedure of installing each shower head is same also the head comes with a manual guide. Do not tighten the head with a wrench or with great force. Also, do not over tighten the head.
Check The New Shower head for Leakage
That’s the final step. After installing the new head turn the head on and check if water leaks out from somewhere or not. If not than congratulation you have successfully replaced your shower head easily. If water burst out then try to tighten your head and test again.
